Introducing something new for the MC USA 2017 convention in Orlando: MennoTalks. Not quite TED, and not exactly Pecha Kucha, MennoTalks will explore a different topic each day featuring 7 speakers from diverse perspectives. The 20×20 presentation format — 20 slides for 20 seconds each — facilitates presentations that are dynamic, fast-paced and concise.
The topics are broad so that we are able to hear from a number of voices in ways that are meaningful and impactful.

This year marks the 100 year anniversary of Mennonite Women USA. To celebrate this milestone, speakers will reflect on the many gifts women bring to our church. How do we as a community honor and celebrate these gifts? Looking toward the next 100 years, where is there room for growth?
Presenters: Alma Ovale, Jenny Castro, Sarah Bixler, Hannah Heinzekehr, Katie Gillmore
MennoTalk – Race, Religion & Justice
July 6, 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
What role does race play in our church and in the broader church? As a peace church, how do we address the issue of race and religion locally, nationally, and internationally?

MennoTalk – Global & Local Peacemaking

Our Confession of Faith states, “We believe that peace is the will of God….Led by the Holy Spirit, we follow Christ in the way of peace, doing justice, bringing reconciliation, and practicing nonresistance even in the face of violence and warfare .” How do we live into our witness as a historic peace church?
